1:To boost the exchange and cooperation of international technology, improve the welding skill, and speed up the training of international welding technicians and engineers, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council of P.R.C(SASAC) is going to hold 2014 Beijing “ARC Cup” International Welding Competition in June of 2014. You are warmly welcome to attend the Competition with your competent welders, welding robot programmers and operators, advanced welding machine manufacturers, advanced welding technology and skill inventors and welders with unique skills.
Hosted by State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council of P.R.C.(SASAC), 2014 Beijing “ARC Cup” International Welding Competition is organized by Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology Co., Ltd. Besides the manual welding and robot welding events, welding show is also introduced.Wish the meeting with you during 2014 Beijing “ARC Cup” InternationalWelding Competition!
2:Events
1、Common events：
1） Robot Welding
2） Manual Shielded Metal Arc Welding (111/SMAW)
3） MIG/MAGWelding (135/GMAW)
4） Argon tungsten-arc welding (141/GTAW)
5） Finished-product welding (finish the welding according to the drawing within the required time)
2、Welding show：
1 ） Welding Quality Test (competition event: practical ultrasonic(UT) operation test. Players who finish with the best accuracy and precision in minimum time win).
2）Advanced welding machine/robot show
3）Advanced welding skills show（advanced welding skills,welding method, welding materials, welding design and welding structure etc.）
4）Unique welding and cutting skills show For example: ultrathin sample welding, high-precision welding, fast welding, welding under pressure (withgas/water), blind spot welding, underwater welding, overlaying and special

material welding (such as aluminum and aluminum alloy welding, titanium and titanium alloy, Magnesium and zinc alloy, zirconium, Magnesium alloy and magnalium, stainless steel, galvanized tube, galvanized sheet, red copper and nickel alloy etc.)

Delegations from enterprises, welding equipment, inspection equipment or robot manufacturers and professional welding societies are warmly welcome to attend the Competition with your competent teams. Meanwhile, the supporting and sponsoring from the enterprises of welding machine, inspection machine, welding material, welding manufacturers and welding service providers are also warmly welcome.
IV、Contestants allowed
1、Common events contestants
1）Born between Jan.1st, 1979—Dec. 31st, 1996；
2）With high welding skills or inspection skills；

1) Players who attend welding quality test must hold the quality certificate/detecting techniques (NDT Welding Inspector II certificate and above, issued by relative department or industry).
2）With high unique welding skills
3）No limit on competition event and number of players except welding quality test
4）Self-provided exhibition welding equipment, working suit,model, sample and welding materials etc.
V、Rules
1、Priorities for foreign contestants
1） The First Prize winner in the national-wide competition will be given reimbursement for their round trip flight and be provided with food and accommodation for free during the Competition.
2）The Second Prize winner and the Third Prize winner in the national-wide competition will be given reimbursement for their single trip flight and be provided with food and accommodation for free during the competition.
3） All overseas contestants, one judge and one coach will be provided with food and accommodation for free during the Competition.
2、Priorities for the sponsors of overseas competition team

In order to encourage the sponsors of overseas competition team, the Organizing Committee of the Competition will give full support to the sponsors’ advertisement and propaganda activities to help them develop the market in China and other countries.
1 ）Welding machines, welding materials, welding robot and welding tools from the sponsors of overseas teams can be chosen for the use of competition.
2）The logo and website of the foreign sponsors will be shown on the official website of the Competition apparently;
3）The name and Logo of the sponsors will be shown on the advertisement board, the Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony, the manuals of the competition and etc.
4）Enterprise video will be played during the Competition and the products leaflets will be given out;
5）Exhibits, logo and flag of the sponsors will be displayed at the competition area.
3. Domestic and overseas manufacturers of welding equipments, inspection equipments, welding materials and welding service providers are warmly welcomed.
VI、Judge and standard for evaluation
1、Judge

GSI SLV (Germany) will be in charge of the judgment work of the Competition according to the international standard, to ensure the fairness and justness of the competition judge.
2、Standard for Evaluation
1）Awarded marks of age: Contestants can get two scores for
every one year younger than thirty, with twelve scores as the upper limit of awarded marks.
2）Scoring formula：
Total Team score = the sum of every contestant’s score/number of the competition teams within the same country.Team score of single event=the sum of all scores of the same event within the same country/number of the teams.
VII、Reward
1 、The First, the Second and the Third Total Team Prize Winner (one for each only) will be issued medal and certificate.
2、The First, the Second and the Third Team Prize Winner for every single event(one for each only) will be issued medal.
3、Group A and Group B will be set for the individual Prize of every single event. Group A consists of domestic and overseas competitors while Group B includes overseas competitors only. The First, the Second and the Third Individual Prize of single event (one for each only) are set for both Groups separately, and medal, certificate (sealed by the Organizing Committee of the Competition)

and money prize will be issued; RMB6000, RMB5000 and RMB4000 will be given to the First, the Second and the Third Prize Winner of Group A while RMB4000, RMB3000 and RMB2000 will be given to the First, the Second and the Third Prize Winner of Group B. The total value of all money prize and award in this Competition are up to RMB200,000;
4、Several Excellency Prizes are set for the single event of the Welding show and Certificates of “Excellent Welding Operator”, “Excellent Welding Equipment Performance” and “Welding Skill Innovator”will be issued.
5 、All contestants will be issued “Excellent Welder of International Welding Competition” by the Organizing Committee of the Competition. The excellent players for every competition event from China central enterprises will be issued “Central Enterprise Technology Expert” and “Central Enterprise Youth
Expert” will be issued to the players at the age of under 35 years old by State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration of the State Council of P. R. of China (SASAC).
6、Special Awards such as the Best Sample Award, the Best Performance Award, the Best Professional Ethic Award and the Best Creative Award will be ssued.

Background Information of the Competition
In May 2008, with the coordination and organization from
Beijing ARC Xinxing Science and Technology Co., Ltd., the first
Beijing·Niedersachsen (Germany) International Welding
Competition was successfully held, with more than 20 contestants
from Beijing and Germany participating the competition.
In September, 2009, German Welding Society (DVS) held the
DVS International Young Workers Welding Competition in Essen,
Germany during the Essen Welding Fair. Chinese Mechanical
Engineering Society (CMES) and Beijing ARC Xinxing Science
and Technology Co., Ltd jointly attended the Competition. Elite
young welders from China, Germany and Czech competed with
each other.
In May 2010, Beijing “ARC Cup” International Welding
Competition was hosted by State-owned Assets Supervision and
Administration Commission of the State Council of P.R.China
(SASAC) and organized by Beijing ARC Xinxing Science and
Technology Co., Ltd. 55 competitors from Germany, Czech, South
Korea, American and China participated in the Competition.
In April, 2011, the 2011 “Huisman Welding Cup” International
Welding Competition was successfully held in Czech Republic with
contestants from Germany, Czech, Slovakia, Belarus, Ukraine and

China.
In September, 2011, “LVM-ARC Cup” International Welding
Competition was held in Luneburg, Germany.
In June, 2012, the 2nd Beijing “ARC Cup” International
Welding Competition was successfully held in Beijing. 70
competitors from Ukraine, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Belarus, South
Korea, Germany and 11 China central enterprises attended the
competition. Internationalized competition events and evaluation
were adopted, and also, robot welding event was introduced for the
first time.
