(The 68^th IIW Annual Assembly & International Conference)

830 representatives from 59 Countries attended this conference. As the highest level of international welding academic community, IIW aims at organizing welding technology exchanges among different Countries, and promoting the development of welding technology. Therefore, IIW annual assembly in each year attaches great importance to academic and technology exchanges, with theme academic conference and various academic conference of each professional committee as core contents. IIW executive committee establishes TMB consisting of 11 to 15 experts, in charge of audit of academic paper and conference organization.

Dr. Liu Zhenying from Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology Co., Ltd., Ye Jiehe from CSR Sifang Co., Ltd., Wang Hongxiao and Zhang Xinmeng from Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd presented their papers respectively. Dr. Liu Zhenying made report about Study and Application of WC Particles Reinforced Iron-Based Wear-Resistant Composite by Arc Deposition Addictive Manufacturing on the Commission I, while Wang Hongxiao and Zhang Xinmeng made report about Lap Laser Welding Technology on Stainless Steel Railway Vehicles and Application of Friction Stir Welding on Aluminum Alloy Railway Vehicles respectively.

On the IIW Commission XIV, Dr. Liu Zhenying introduced Beijing “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition and showed the video and excellent pictures of 2014 Beijing “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition.

During the following Regional Working Committee, the decision of “IIW to be the official supporter of ‘Arc Cup’ International Welding Competition” was passed. Previous “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition pictures presented by Dr. Liu will also be submitted to IIW official website and open to the ones who are interested in welding.

As the supporting unit, IIW organized meetings of “Arc Cup” Committee to discuss the detailed technical scheme of 2016 (the 4^th) “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition which will be held on June in next year. Representatives of each member Country also proposed a series of feasible suggestions.

IIW is the organization with the highest academic level in the world welding industry, representing the world highest productivity level and the most advanced technology level. It has the world-class representativeness and authority. The support of IIW to “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition has important significance. It’s the recognition to previous working, competition level, social influence, and world influence of “Arc Cup”. It means that “Arc Cup” covers to the world and the competitive level as well as organizing level will also be improved greatly.

Although there were up to 22 Countries and regions to attend the previous three “Arc Cup” competitions, most of them came from Asia and Europe. But IIW has 59 member Countries coming from Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Australia. Its support means that IIW member Countries can receive the official invitation in the name of IIW. The participating Countries of “Arc Cup” will increase greatly.

Hosted by State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration of the State Council and organized by Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology Co., Ltd., 2016 (the 4^th) “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition will be held on June, 2016, in Beijing. At the same time, “2016 (2^nd) International Conference on FABTECH & Skills” and “2016 Asian MANUTECH & SKILLS Demonstration Show” will also be held.We are expecting to your participation!
