During 15th to 16th Sept., 2015, the “Robotic Welding Competition 2015” co-hosted by German Welding Society (DVS) and Messe Essen GmbH was held in Essen exhibition center of Nuremberg in Germany. Dr. Liu Zhenying, the deputy secretary of Beijing "ARC Cup" international welding competition committee, president of Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology led Chinese group to attend the competition in Germany. Chinese representatives come from CRRC Corporation Limited and FAW Group and won one gold medal and one bronze medal.

Robotic Welding Competition 2015 in Germany is a very influential event in the international welding industry. The qualifications for selection of “Robotic Welding Competition 2015” are very strict. Finally, total 14 competitors were selected from China and Germany. Before the competition, in order to highlight our comprehensive strength of welding talents and severe qualifications for selection, competitors made great efforts to prepare and actively participated in practices, as well as took part in training from professional teachers for more than one month. In the end, they got international technician certificates and acquired qualification to attend the competition.

The competition includes written examination in English and robot practical operation. Written examination covers robotology, welding as well as safety knowledge, and requires answers in English. Practical operation is the programming and operation of designated robots from FANUC, KUKA and YASKAWA. Chinese group selected 5 competitors to participate in the program. Zhang Dongxiao and Wang Taizhong from CRRC Corporation Limited entered for FANUC robot, while Yan Hongbo and Wang Cai from FAW Group entered for KUKA robot, Li Jinbao from FAW Group entered for YASKAWA robot. In the end, on the condition of difficult language communication, unfamiliar with equipment and in face of many strong rivals, Yan Hongbo and Wang Cai from FAW Group won gold medal and bronze medal respectively. Foreign referees were impressed by perfect technique of Chinese competitors and they couldn’t help exclaiming after saw the data, “Excellent!”. The excellent performance of this competition is inseparable from emphasis of each participating units on high talents cultivation and organization of Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology Co., Ltd. In addition, excellent achievement is also inseparable from the endeavor of competitors and help of their coaches. For example, Bian Qingzhan coach from FAW Group, the director of axle workshop with professional skills, not only guides competitors on techniques, but also is good at help on psychology counseling. Besides, no one can imagine how much efforts does Xie Yuanli coach from CRRC Corporation Limited make to win honors of “National Model Worker”, representative of the 18th National People’s Congress, and Chinese Skills Prize. Both the two coaches also shoulder the responsibility and mission to win glory for the Country. After finishing their own work, they also spend a lot of spare time to train and guide the competitors.
After the competition, the host held joyous banquet to celebrate the success of the competition. Attendees were all immersed in exotic atmosphere.

Afterwards, the Chinese Group left for Bad Waldsee, a small town in south Germany. They were invited to visit ESS company - the cooperator of Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology Co., Ltd and received warm reception and patient explanation for their questions. ESS company is a professional research and manufacturing company for welding machines and merged with DINSE which is a professional system integration company. The multi-function welding machines produced by the new merged company is stable and competitive in price. ESS technical advantages include robot system integration, laser automatic welding, plasma automatic welding, high frequency TIG welding, MIG EWM-coldArc, double push and pull feeding wire system. In addition, the Chinese Group discussed deeply with ESS company on technical questions. Later, the technician of ESS company showed their workshop and excellent welding machines to the Chinese Group.
